Lions reach goal ringing the bell for the Salvation Army

To the editor:

Greater Pine Island Lions reached their goal of bell ringing for Salvation Army for 3 days 10-6 p.m.

Thanks to Laura Mae and Fred Brazee for allowing the Greater Pine Island Lions to again contribute our part by signing up our members and friends to ring the Salvation Army Red Kettle Bell again this year. Thanks for all who joined us for this fun event and thank you to all of you who stopped by to talk and donate money to the kettle to help others less fortunate than us! Everyone really pitched in this year and the kettles were nice and full by the end of each day!

Special thanks go out to all of our bell ringers, Marilyn Brandenburg and Kim Barroco (who filled in for Harry and Pat Halvorson), Rubye Woodhead, Kendall Nygard, Gary Pincins, John Evans and Garth Moreau. Thanks so much for helping us reach our 3-day goal this year (for the GPI Lions) and I will be calling you again next year around this time of year to see if you can again help us "Fill the Kettle" for the Salvation Army!

Happy holidays to everyone!

Mary Von Burg,

President, GPI Lions
