Beltone Hearing Care Service at American Legion and VFW

March 23, 2016
By ED FRANKS (efranks@breezenewspapers.com) , Pine Island Eagle

Jane Lopez and Heather Golden, Outreach coordinator, with Beltone Hearing of Cape Coral, have scheduled the next monthly hearing aid service at Pine Island American Legion Post 136 for Wednesday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The second session will be Tuesday, April 19, at the VFW. The sessions will include a free Captel captioned telephone presentation.

"This is an ongoing monthly hearing aid service for any brand hearing aid and hearing user," Lopez said. "The service includes cleaning, checking performance and providing counseling regarding the use of your hearing aids."

Captioned phones are provided free of charge to people who have documented hearing loss. CapTel phones allow a hearing impaired person to listen to the caller and also read the captions related to the conversation as they are displayed on the screen. This is particularly valuable for people who experience improved hearing from hearing aids but may still have difficulty understanding telephone conversations. Even voice mail is translated to caption form which is an enormous benefit.

Contact Lopez at Beltone Hearing Care Center at 239-772-8189.
