With Santa waving to passing cars on Pine Island Road, CW Fudge held its second annual Holiday Open House Wednes-day. Shortly after 6 p.m., Santa flipped the switch officially opening the event.

"This is our kick-off of the holiday season," co-owner William Tidball said. "And, at the same time, helping to promote the Beacon of H.O.P.E.'s Holiday House in a couple of weeks. Tonight we are introducing our fudge flavors for the Christmas season as well as our Thanksgiving flavors."

Christmas season fudge flavors are Fruitcake, Eggnog, Gingerbread, Pepper-mint Bark, Candy Cane, Snowy Road, Hollyberry, Snowball, Cranberry Nut and Chocolate Cranberry Walnut Fudge.

CW Fudge held its second annual Holiday Open House Wednesday.

"Local artist Ann Sansone is face-painting tonight and the Pine Island Dancers from the dance studio across the street are performing," Tidball said. "We also have Judy Bicking from Island Decor raising funds for 'Holiday for Heroes'."

Employees from Island Decor and More were there filling boxes with snacks, drinks and toiletries and raising funds for "Holiday for Heroes."

"Our deadline is fast approaching," Bicking said. "So far this year Holiday for Heroes has sent 2,608 boxes and our holiday goal is 1,000. Even though the Postal Service gives us a discount rate it's the postage that's most expensive. We're hoping to raise $15,900 for the postage."

Everyone cheered as the dancers from Pine Island Dance Studio crossed the street. Dancers of all ages performed for more than 100 people. Pictures with Santa were provided by Joan and Phil Rosenberg.

"I hope everyone comes out for the Beacon's Holiday House," Tidball said. "Every year it just keeps getting bigger and better. This year's Holiday House is Thursday, Dec. 3; Friday, Dec. 4; and Saturday, Dec. 5. Santa arrives by boat Thursday at 5 p.m."
