Neeley Keith Bartlett, 85, of Pine Island passed away on Wednesday June 10, 2015. Born in New Milton, Doddridge County, and W.VA to Alfred and Fern (Strickland) Bartlett. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Alfred Hugh Bartlett, sister-in-law Elizabeth Bartlett, a sister Ethel Lee Collinsworth, 2 infant sons James Allen and Donald Stephen, a son David Keith Bartlett, father-in-law Robert Howard and mother-in-law Eleanor Hendrix, Aunt Daisy Howard, and Pearl, uncles David, Lonnie and Cecil Howard and his beloved dog Skooter. Survivors include his wife Barbara Howard of Pine Island, sons Robert Steven (Donna)Bartlett of Astor, FL, Joseph Anthony(Lynn) Bartlett of Blairsville, GA ,ex-wife Alma Marie Morris Bartlett Deacon of Astor, FL, sisters Josephine (Richard) Wilkins, Janie (Leslie) Hardwick of Pleasantville, OH; sister-in-law Linda(Joe) Jaffray of Baxley, GA, brother-in-law- James Mark Hendrix, Tice, FL; Aunts Nellie Price, Julie Bell Nicklay, Uncles Jack (Barbara) Howard, Alfred Howard; Grandkids Dave, Jr. Mike, Angie, Annie, Gary, Robert, Kristen, Bill, Jamie, Jay and Jessica; Nieces Patty Brooks of Carrol, OH, Karren (Russ) Hines , Darlene (Brian)Archer of Pleasantville, OH; nephews Shayne West of Portland, OR, and Trent West of Columbus, OH, great nieces Amy Brooks, Erin Hines and Emily Archer; great nephews Corbley Brooks, Russell (Elizabeth)Hines, Matthew (Hannah) Archer; great-great nieces Kinsey Archer, great-great nephews Braydon and Keegan Hines and many unofficial adopted Pine Island kids. He graduated from Lancaster High School, Lancaster, OH. Drove a school bus for Lee County for 37 years. He did love The Special Needs Students and was known as Archie. Fogged nights for 39 years for Lee County Mosquito Control. Don't worry he didn't take pictures. He wanted to be buried with his Big Blue Ford Tractor but codes wouldn't permit it. He was an Honorary Volunteer Fireman for Matlacha-Pine Island Fire Dept. He had been and EMT, Commercial Fisherman, Wrestler, Farmer, guide, Property Maintenance, raced trucks, railroad worker, Commercial driver, story teller and played Santa all year. His real beard and blue eyes and kind heart made him so convincing. He loved Pine Island and his extended family, his pet mouse will never jump again. There will never be another Neeley Keith Bartlett.
