"Sunset Dreams is the islands' premier boat and RV sales and repair business," chamber executive director Jennifer Jennings said.

The owners of Sunset Dreams are business manager Ron Gorka's son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Agueda Gorka, who own finance businesses in Denver, Colorado.

"I think they're trying to keep me busy," Ron Gorka said.

"I was aware that the old owner was leaving and thought this might be a good investment for them when they retire," Gorka said. "My daughter-in-law, Aqueda, is in the business where she can provide financing for people buying boats and RVs so it was a perfect fit."

He described the ceremony as an introduction for the new business.

"What we want to accomplish with our grand opening today is to introduce Sunset Dreams to the community," Gorka said. "Pine Islanders know that this business has been here many years as a storage facility for boats and RVs. We moved into the front office back in January and have spent the last few months revising and upscaling our services.

"We have the capacity to store boats, trailers and RVs up to about 120 units," Gorka continued. "It's our intent to offer whatever maintenance needs our customers need. That includes washing and waxing, some boat mechanical service. We don't plan on doing RV engine service but we can do a lot of external work like generator systems, batteries and so forth. We want to be full service for those that store their vehicles here, and for others in the community, tourists, etc."

Sunset Dreams is at 5149 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia. Hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"Our mission is to deliver a complete maintenance and storage package while you relax and enjoy your sunny vacation," Gorka said. "We also have boats for sale. The boats at the front of the lot are a combination of boats we own and are selling through consignments. If anyone has any questions they should call us."
