Claudine Howard Gardner, age 86 of Beavercreek, OH, went home to her Lord and Savior April 19, 2015 at The Hospice of Dayton, Ohio. She was born February 2, 1929 in Magoffin County, Kentucky. Claudine was the youngest of seven children born to the late Grover and Beatrice Arnett Howard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Howard, and six sisters: Eliza Coates, Alice Howard, Mildred Webb, Lucille Meadows, Aretta Hammonds and Alberta Trusty. Surviving Claudine is her husband of 63 years, James W. Gardner. His devotion and loving care was a constant support to Claudine in the final years of her life. Claudine is also survived by her daughter Elaine Taylor (Harold) of Excelsior, MN, and son, James E. Gardner of Satsuma, FL, and her two precious grandsons Joshua J. Huehnel (Bekah) of Denver, CO. and James H. Gardner of Interlachen, FL. Claudine was a long time resident of Beavercreek, OH and served her Lord as a member of Beavercreek Baptist Church. She worked at Dayton Press for 30 years and at Plasco Inc. for 5 years. After retirement, she and Jim lived part of each year in St. James City, FL where they worshiped at the St. James City Baptist Church. Claudine loved her God, her family and her friends. She will be sadly missed. A funeral service was held 1 PM, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH. Visitation was held at the funeral home from 11:30 AM until the time of the funeral on Wednesday. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens following the service.
