Max Julius Lilie, 56, passed away in his home Monday, Sept. 8, 2014. He was born March 14, 1958, in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Hans Lilie and Gretel Hansen Lilie.

He was on the Port Clinton High School swim and track team. He moved to Florida in 1979 and eventually settled in Pine Island with his wife, Kathy Wadsworth Lilie. He was a devoted father and "Pappa." His purpose in life was to make his family's life the best it could be.

He was a talented artist and a jack of all trades when it came to surprises for his babies.

He is survived by wife, Kathy Wadsworth Lilie, and brother, Todd (Kelly) Lilie of Catawba, Ohio. His beloved children include Heidi (Cory) Musser, Max (Kristie) Lilie, Melinda (Brett) Powell, Brian (Angela) Lilie, Justin (Kelli) Lilie and Dylan Lilie. Grandchildren are Gage Musser, Lorin Musser, Troy Powell, Riley Lilie, Lilie Powell, Baylee Lilie, Mason Lilie, Alyssa Powell and Michael Lilie.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 11, at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers. A visitation was held prior to the service. The family also received visitors at the Lilie home.
