J.C. Kirk, 76, of North Webster, Ind., died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Ind. He was born in Marion, Ind., Feb. 1,1938, to Doyte and Fern Kirk. He married Jackie Lewark on Feb. 5, 1962. They were married for 49 years and they preceeded him in death.

He lived in Marion, Ind., while working for General Motors for 41 1/2 years as a general tool and die supervisor. After retirement, he summered in North Webster, on Webster Lake in Indiana and wintered in St. James City.

His favorite activities were spending time with his family and friends, boating, fishing, remodeling and motor sports. He was a member of Center Christian Church, American Legion North Webster and Pine Island American Legion, as well as The Elks, The Moose, Jaycees and Mississinewa Boat and Ski Club.

Survivors include son, Kevin Kirk of Marion, Ind.; daughter, Stacey (Mike) Dickerson of North Webster; grandchildren, Austin and Logan Dickerson of North Webster, Courtney (Justin) Martin of Fishers, Ind., and Allison Kirk (fianc, Adam Combs) of Marion, Ind., and Lindsey Gillion of Georgia.

He was and an amazing, kind hearted and honest man. Quiet, thoughtful and often ornery, he was an extremely hard working man who always put his family first. Especially after retiring, he spent a lot of quality time with his children and grandchildren, teaching them to ski, swim and woodworking. He will be dearly missed by so many whose lives will be forever saddened by this loss. Until we see you again ...

Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 North Baldwin Ave., Marion, Ind.

The funeral service was Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Burial, with military rites, will be today, Aug. 6, at Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
