Tina Bush wants everyone to know Island Girl Fitness Club is under new ownership as of July 1, 2014.
"It's official! Today I am the new owner of Island Girl Fitness," Bush said.
"It's interesting that the day the previous owners came to us to rent the space, I wished that it was my idea," Bush said. "Then as I watched the business and watched it grow and saw the community support, I started forming ideas in my head about how the business could be improved by adding classes for nutrition and yoga."

The original concept for the club was "No men No mirrors" and Bush says the policy will remain the same. Club members also have access 24 hours a day seven days a week. Each member receives a key-access card.
June was used as a transition month and Mel Meo designed the new logo. Meo's artwork embodies the peace of Pine Island, which has been her home for 40 years. Her logo design for Island Girl Fitness is of five "Island Girls" wading in the surf. Meo's work is always colorful and inspiring.
"My first job when I took over was to upgrade the equipment and start classes," Bush said. "As you can see we've replaced the equipment and will begin classes shortly. I am planning weekly yoga and nutrition classes for our members. Every month people can look forward to upgrades and changes here at the club.
"We are open 24/7 to our members," Bush continued. "And Kim Holowell will be here as a personal trainer available for any facility tours, or to train people, or for a free workout Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"Because of the health issues I've faced over the last couple of years, I have been forced to start a new healthy lifestyle," Bush said. "So members will find me here working out with them every day. It's amazing that for only $1 a day you can get in shape and change your life. We have members here from 16 to 87 and they are an inspiration. Exercise will boost your energy, you will lose weight, you'll just feel better.
"I am so grateful to Tim Jordan for starting this women's fitness club and the concept he had. I am also grateful for the support of the community and for the dedicated members and I am grateful for the opportunity to take over Island Girl Fitness Club," Bush said.
"I would like to invite those members that stopped coming to Island Girl Fitness Club to stop in and see the changes we've made.
"One-on-one appointments are available by calling 283-3011. And any evening from 5-9, they can call the number on the door (239-283-3011) and a trainer will be here in five minutes to work with them."
