Red's Fresh Seafood House & Tavern's Cape Coral location has closed, but the seafood restaurant's Pine Island location remains open at 10880 Stringfellow Road in Bokeelia.
"While we have enjoyed almost a decade of success with our Pine Island location, we just couldn't make the larger space in Cape Coral cohesive with our current menu and financially viable at the same time due to rising costs in the industry," said owner Bud LoCicero. "It was impossible for us to operate two locations simultaneously and serve the same quality of fresh seafood offerings we have prided ourselves on all these years."
Red's opened on Pine Island in 2005 and has won numerous awards for its always fresh, never frozen seafood.
While seafood is Red's main feature, its menu also offers ribs, steak, chicken, salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, burritos and more.
The LoCiceros have a long tenure in the restaurant industry. Prior to opening Red's on Pine Island, the couple owned and operated a number of restaurants and seafood markets on Sanibel, in Fort Myers, Ohio and Massachusetts.
"I believe that location would work for another concept, but a duplication of Red's on Pine Island just wasn't feasible, and we refuse to compromise on our Red's name," LoCicero added.
Red's on Pine Island is open for dinner six days a week through the summer: Monday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. An extensive wine menu and full bar are also available. Reservations are not accepted.
