Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery will host a Memorial Day service at 10 a.m., Monday, May 26, in the Veterans Honor Garden at the cemetery, 1630 S.W. Pine Island Road.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Rev. Jack Mulvey, MSGT U.S. Air ForceRetired, will serve as the chaplain for the service. The guest speakers will include Alan Classon, U.S. Marine Corps, Past Commander, VFW Post 8463 and Jeff Rousey, MSGT U.S. Army-Retired. The barbershop quartet "The Sun-Sations" and Roy St. Onge, will perform patriotic songs.
There will also be a "roll call" of veterans and the opportunity to take a rubbing of their loved one's name on our Honor Wall. Chuck Warren, chairman of the Dignity Memorial Homeless Burial Veterans Program, will speak on need to honor and provide free services for our homeless veterans.
Other activities include a ceremonial fly-over by a UH-1 "Huey" helicopter from the Lee County Mosquito Control District. The Harney Point VFW 8463 and American Legion Post 90 of Cape Coral will participate.
Refreshments will be served following the service.
