Dawdling drivers on Stringfellow a problem

May 7, 2014
Pine Island Eagle

To the editor:

Even after many of our "snowbirds" have flown north, we still have problems with how drivers use Stringfellow Road.

Of course, this is the main traffic artery on the island. Many business people and commercial entities use it to travel on the island. Their time is precious.

Why is it when the posted speed limit is mostly 55 mph do so many people drive slowly?

These people cost others time and money to say nothing of stress and aggravation. 55 mph does not mean dawdling at 35 mph. Speed up and drive safely at the posted limits.
