To the editor:
Hats off to our amazing island for the success of yet another Matlacha Hooker fund-raiser. The annual Bag-n-Tag Yard Sale and Pancake Breakfast were held at the Moose Lodge on Pine Island Saturday, March 15. The event brought bargain hunters out to shop (selling thousands in merchandise) and served hundreds of dollars of pancake breakfasts! All funds were designated to the Matlacha Hooker "Hooked on Education" Scholarship fund. A special thank you to the Moose Lodge for hosting the event and also for the use of its pristine kitchen!
Thank you as well to each and every Hooker who donated items and volunteered at the event, the Mariners for their ever willingness to help at our events, Don Maxwell for storing the yard sale items, the Trader's Hitching Post (drop off location), Century 21 Sunbelt/Suzanne Tomlinson (drop off location) and all who donated items and their precious time to make the event so successful!
Thank you also to the two joint committees, the Bag-n-Tag Committee & the Pancake Breakfast Committee, for your organization and hard work. By working together as a community we can now change another life by promoting continued education. Thank you!
