Island Fire Control District looking for artists to paint tower

March 26, 2014
Pine Island Eagle

The Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District is looking for artists to paint its training tower that is approximately 30 feet by 15 feet (each side) that needs to get a facelift. The department is looking for artists that can paint each side of the tower with a different theme. The themes that officials are looking for are: Pine Island History; 9-11 Memorial; Public Safety - Police, Fire, EMS; and TBA (Committee vote)

Because the department is a government entity, it cannot dedicate taxpayers' monies to this project. That means it is unable to provide reimbursement, paint, supplies, scaffolding, etc. This is a great opportunity for every artist out there!

If you are interested, please contact Chief Marzella or Deputy Chief Mickuleit at 239-283-0030, or simply stop by Monday-Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., at Station 1 located at the Pine Island center (5700 Pine Island Road, N.W., Bokeelia). Come stop by and check out our blank "canvas!"
