Phillip Perkins, 92, formerly of St. James City, died Saturday, March 1, 2014. He is survived by his daughters, Shari Perkins of St. James City and Darcy Perkins of Raleigh, N.C.; son, Tony Perkins (Cynthia) of Homer Glen, Ill.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was retired from Purdue University where he was a professor in mechanical engineering. He enjoyed playing bridge at the St. James City Civic Association, and was a volunteer tax preparer at the Pine Island Library.
A memorial service will be held in Indiana this summer.
