Guide 'meet-and-greet' Feb. 28

February 19, 2014
Pine Island Eagle

Pennsylvania has Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog, to tell if spring has arrived, but we have a 6-foot silver rocket named tarpon to herald the arrival of spring. The train has left the station.

Get those rods out and blow the dust off, they are here! Congratulations Don Mcintosh, winner of the rod and reel giveaway. Thanks to everyone who came and participated at the Florida Sportsman' Expo.

Old Pine Island Marina will be hosting a guide "meet-and-greet" Friday, Feb. 28, at 6:30 p.m. It will be a great opportunity to get some angling help from the experts. They will be giving casting lessons, knot tying instruction and cast net throwing help. You will be able to book trips and talk one-on-one with some of the top booked guides from the Pine Island area. Lights snacks and soft drinks will be provided. Come join us for the fun.

Old Pine Island Marina is at 3187 Stringfellow Road, St. James City. For information, call 1-239-283-2548 or visit
