Pine Island Community Church is holding an Island Bazaar Saturday, Feb. 15, beginning at 10 a.m. in the church parking lot at 5320 Doug Taylor Circle, St. James City.
The bazaar will include an auction, conducted by Auctioneer Bruce Swanson of PICC; a blood drive, conducted by Karen Johnson; live entertainment performed by Strange Arrangement and Annie Wenz; and vendors of various family-friendly items.
The auction will be conducted at the north end of the church parking lot and will begin promptly at 10 a.m. Among the many items to be auctioned off are a like-new classic Schwinn, fully-equipped bicycle; an original Mel Meo print made especially for the event, as well as other Meo original prints; a 1960s Indian bicycle; as well as other items of art work, furniture and household tools and items. Auction items may be viewed beginning at 9 a.m.
The PICC Thrift Mall will be closed on the day of the auction.
The Bloodmobile will be located at the south end of the parking lot and will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donors of every type of blood are encouraged to come and donate blood if you are 16 years of age or older and have not donated in the prior 56 days. A brief questionnaire is required and the donation process itself takes only about 5-to-10 minutes of your time. So many benefit from the donation of blood, particularly those within our own congregation as well as family & friends of island residents.
Vendors of any family-friendly item, such as fruits/vegetables, jewelry, original artwork, arts & craft items, flowers, plants or any island business wishing to have a tent are encouraged to register by calling the PICC office at 239-283-9944, or stopping by the office at 5320 Doug Taylor Circle, Monday thru Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon, and filling out a vendor registration form. Vendors are encouraged to bring their own tables/tents, but a limited number of tables are available from the church. Vendor booths will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendor booths are free of charge.
Live entertainment will be performed in the PICC gardens from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Admission and parking to the bazaar are free and there is no charge for vendor registration. Come and enjoy a wonderful day of free fun and entertainment.
