Pine Island Little League's Spring Season will begin with a team-making week. It is very important that all registered players, as well as any other player who wants to participate in spring season, be present during team-making week.
* Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m. - Majors
* Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 6 p.m. - Minors
* Thursday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m. - T-ball
Signups with continue during team-making week. The registration fee will be $50, and as always, thanks to the Bobby Holloway Jr. Memorial fund, no child will be turned away due to financial hardship. All signups will be at the concession stand and multiple children from the same family will be discounted. Please bring three proofs of address, and new players will need a birth certificate as well. All Pine Island and Matlacha children from the age of 4-12 welcome, and no experience is necessary.
The Pine Island Little League is a non-profit athletic organization that relies on registration fees, team sponsors and donations from the community to pay for the day-to-day operation of the only organized sports for children on Pine Island. Adults who participate as board members, coaches, umpires and concession stand attendants are all volunteers with no money to go toward salaries of any kind within the league. Any business or civic organization wanting to sponsor either a team or a banner should contact Wendy Mills.
The league is also in need of coaches, and volunteers from the community are always welcome.
