The 2014 Art Expo will feature the art of Barbara Albin. Painting, teaching and exhibiting for over 40 years, Albin taught watercolor at the Visual Art Center in Punta Gorda for past 10 years. She now juries art shows and presents workshops. On March 4, she will hold a monotype workshop sponsored by Golden Brush at the St. James City Civic Association.
Albin is in an invitational show with three other artists in Goff Gallery, through Jan 30, at the Visual Art Center in Punta Gorda. She also was just accepted into its national show on view Feb. 1 to March 9.
Most recently she participated with Maestro Raffaele Ponti, conductor of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, in "Pictures at an Exhibition," Part 3 at FGCU. She was assigned Mussorgsky's Eighth Movement "The Catacombs." The painting "Sacred Subway" is her creative result and may be viewed at the Charlotte Symphony Office, 6210 Scott St., Unit 213, Punta Gorda, through Feb 18.
Albin's paintings may be seen at Sea Grapes Gallery in Punta Gorda and WildChild Gallery in Matlacha.
Art Expo welcomes everyone to stop by and visit with this award winning artist and view her painting on Saturday, Feb. 22, between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the St. James City Civic Association.
