Friction Farm to perform at Tarpon Lodge Jan. 28

January 22, 2014
Pine Island Eagle

Modern folk duo Friction Farm will perform at the Tarpon Lodge, 13777 Waterfront Drive, Pine Island, Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 6-9 p.m. There is no cost to attend.

The duo, Christine Stay, bassist/vocalist, and Aidan Quinn guitarist/vocalist, is touring Florida with a new CD "I Read Your Book." Each song on the CD was inspired by a different book.

During 2012, the duo spent a great deal of time traveling and that left a lot of time for reading. They decided to turn it into a project of turning a book into a song. They were inspired by "The Voyage of the Beagle," and fictional works "The Cellist of Sarajevo," "Abraham Lincoln," "Vampire Hunter" and others.

During the island concert, Friction Farm will play selections and also give a little insight into how each book inspired the song.

Friction Farm are Kerrville New Folk Finalists and Falcon Ridge Emerging Artists. From ballads to anthems, the performers fill each song with harmony and hope.
