The Sixth Annual Art Expo is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21, and Saturday, Feb. 22, at the St. James City Civic Association. Friday is show set-up and an "Evening with the Artists" art preview for patrons and invited guests.
The show opens to the public Saturday, Feb. 22, from 9 a.m. 4 p.m.
Previous participants in the show will receive an application by mail the first week in January 2014. Deadline for mail in applications is Jan. 27 and deadline for hand delivered applications to SJCCA is 5 p.m., Jan. 31.
Jury selection will be held the following week and notification of acceptance will be mailed by Friday, Feb. 7.
Art Expo is an exclusive showcase for Pine Island artists. Art entered in the show must be original and made by the artist. The show categories are: ceramic, jewelry, sculpture, metal, wood, fibre, photography, drawing/prints, glass, paintings and mixed mediums. Anyone not on our 2013 mailing list who would like to apply for the 2014 show may request an application by calling Mary Ann Harms at 283-9337. Application (jury) fee is $20 non-refundable. A 15 percent commission on art sold is due at show end. Also call Mary Ann if you have any questions regarding the show.
SJCCA looks forward to hosting this annual event and encourages all Greater Pine Island artists to participate and invite their friends, patrons and neighbors to visit the show.
