The Cape Royal Community Foundation will kick off this year's social season with a charity ball Saturday, Nov. 16, at Palmetto Pine Country Club.

The theme for this year's event is "Up, Up and Away" - and that is exactly what will happen to a lucky attendee participating in the live auction who bids and wins the hot air balloon ride for four provided by American Balloons.

For those who don't want to go up, but just want to "get way," there are Four Park Hopper Passes at Disney World or a round of golf for four at Magnolia Landings. There's also a family beach portrait session at Lovers Key by Cason Photography.

Ball co-chairman, Tom Mitchell, said, "We expect to raise over $30,000 in proceeds from this year's event that will fund grants to seven local charities. Over 120 gift items have been donated by local businesses that will be used as door prizes, live auction items, Chinese auction and silent auction purchases."

The foundation thanks all of the contributors, including the Elmquist Eye Group of Cape Coral, the presenting sponsor, for its generosity and support.
