It just keeps getting better

October 30, 2013
Pine Island Eagle

To the Editor:

The Matlacha Hookers thank all that attended the 2013 Pine Island Elementary Fishing Tournament & Derby. What a great day! Everyone enjoyed the music, various auctions and raffles, food and drink.

The children were entertained and busy all day long fishing, painting and crafting paper hats. All of the children enjoyed a hearty lunch thanks to JD Hollway at the Waterfront Restaurant. Adult Fishermen reported that the water and tides were ideal and proudly displayed their catch. Weigh Master Phil Russo shared that many donated their catch that we all enjoyed during the Fish Fry. Congratulations to all of the children and adults that received recognition for the catch.

Our members support those businesses and organizations that support us; and the winners do too!

Our success would have been possible without the support from our community. First and foremost are the dedicated members of the Matlacha Hookers; each of them give 110 percent every year. Next to our brothers, the Matlacha Mariners; we just love you guys!
