Charles Johnson, who was born July 9, 1934, in Hartford, Conn., died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013. He moved to Florida about 1969. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-54 serving in Korea.
Mr. Johnson worked for Underwood Typewriter in Hartford, Conn., before moving to Miami, Fla., where he worked for Heards Race Horse Farms as a farm manager. He moved to Pine Island in 1988.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Waggoner) Johnson of St. James City; two children, son Chase Walsh and a daughter Sharon L Walsh; a brother, William A. Johnson and wife Sylvia (Kay) Johnson of Rotonda, Fla.; a nephew, Allen Johnson of Collinsville, Conn.; niece, Cynthia Johnson of Farrington, Conn.; niece, Susan (Brayman) Pinette of Colchester, Conn.; nephew, Mark Brayman of Colchester, Conn.; niece, Amy (Brayman) Martin of Winter Park, Fla.; five grand-nephews; and one grand-niece.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his mother, Ebba Marie (Kask) Johnson, and father, Edward O. Johnson; sister, Dorothy (Johnson) Brayman; and brother, Robert O. Johnson of Rotonda, Fla.
