The first sign-up for Pine Island Little League's Fall Ball will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 5:30-7 p.m.. at the concession stand.
Fall Ball will begin the week of Oct. 14, and run though the week before Thanksgiving. All children from age 4 to 15 are welcome, regardless of experience, and sign-ups are free.
Every year, Pine Island Little League holds preseason Fall Ball practices to improve the children's baseball skills and introduce new players to the sport. The children will work on technique and play scrimmage games.
The Pine Island Little League is a non-profit athletic organization that relies on registration fees, team sponsors and donations from the community to pay for the day-to-day operation of the only organized sports organization for children on Pine Island. Adults who participate as coaches, referees and concession stand attendants are all volunteers with no money to go toward salaries of any kind within the league. Coaches are always needed.
Forms for sign-ups are available at pineislandlittleleague.org and will also be available on sign-up day. New players need to bring birth certificates and three proofs of address. The league is also in need of coaches. Parents are always welcome, but in addition, we are looking for volunteers from the community.
