The auditions for the play "Little Women" at the Beacon of H.O.P.E. Playhouse will continue.
"We have a number of roles to fill and I would like to invite everyone out to the Beacon of H.O.P.E. to audition for a part," said Pine Island Playhouse Coordinator Nichole Pichon.
"I think its a well known story, a coming of age story, that most people read in high school," she said. "I like this because the novel is about the four March sisters (Meg, 16; Jo, 14; Beth, 13; and Amy, 12) and, as you know, it is loosely based on the childhood experiences of the four Alcott sisters. Author Louisa May Alcott wrote the story after the Civil War and the play takes place during the Civil War."
Pichon is writing the stage adaptation of "Little Women" to meet the time constraints of a short play.
"It's a little challenging," she said. "Trying to get everything into the time we have but I'll get it done.
"People can just show up for the auditions, fill out an audition form, and perform the piece I have selected. There is no preparation needed for the audition," she said.
