Every year, shortly before the MangoMania Tropical Fruit Festival, the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce conducts an artwork contest. There are two entry categories - one for adults ages12 and up, and one for children under 12.
"I am tickled that my art has been selected," Dotsey said. "Although I have been creating art for a long time I have never been paid for my art before. This has been a real honor."
Dotsey was awarded $300, two complimentary tickets to MangoMania and a T-shirt with her design. The T-shirts are available in several tropical colors and will be sold at the event to raise funds for the chamber. In addition, her artwork appeared on all print advertisements for 2013 Mango Mania including posters, flyers, print ads and web ads.

The winner of the Under-12 contest is Savahna Flint. She was awarded a $50 cash prize, two complimentary tickets to MangoMania and a T-shirt with her design.
"The T-shirts have been selling great," Jennifer Jennings, Mango Mania event coordinator said. "Shirts have been flying out of here and sales have been great."
