Cape Royal Community Foundation awards academic scholarships

Cape Royal Community Foundation awarded Four Academic Scholarships on Sat, April 6 at their annual golf tournament, "Lee County High Schools Golf Scholarship Challenge" at Royal Tee Golf Course.

The four scholarships were awarded to Nicole Trent from Cape Coral High School ($5,000), Jordan Kenney from Mariner High School ($5000), Sevani Desai from Cape Coral High School ($2500) and Chase Eberhard from Estero High School ($2500).

Seventeen Lee County High Schools were contacted for the Cape Royal Community Foundation Annual Scholar-ship Awards Program. This year 16 Golf Program applicants were submitted by the high schools. Based on academic achievements and community service, four were selected by a team of educators.

Tom Maurath, Chairman of the Golf Tournament, announced that since the first tournament in 2002, they have been able to generate funds to award over $150,000 in scholarships to deserving high schools students. The Cape Royal Community Foundation thanks the people involved in the applicant review process and all the sponsors and contributors participating in our annual Golf Tournament.
