Richard Boies McKenna Sr., 74, of Bokeelia, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in his home at the end of a dirt road in Bokeelia. He was the oldest son of Sherwood and Katherine McKenna. He was born in Wilkes Barre, Pa., and moved his family to Cape Coral in 1974 from Rockville, Md. He owned and operated Able Auto Care in Cape Coral for over 30 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Jean B. McKenna; five children, Carol (Alan) Tucker, Richard B. McKenna Jr., Maryann McKenna, Robert (Linda) McKenna and Suzy (Scot) Goldberg; six grandchildren, Crissy Tucker, Mike Tucker, Matt Tucker, Shane Tucker, Logan Goldberg, Lexi Goldberg; seven great-grandchildren, Brenna, Morgan, Madison, Blake, Austin, Maci and Isabella; sister, Joan (Robert) Boswell of Kensington, Md.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. McKenna was preceded in death by his son, Anthony "Tony" McKenna "#55."

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 6, at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 12175 Stringfellow Road, Bokeelia. Visitation will start at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
