Local author Mary Kay Stevens will be the guest at the Matlacha Hookers Wine Tasting with Cheese Pairings and Decadent Chocolates fund-raiser Sunday, April 7. She will be on hand to sign copies of her book "Images of America Pine Island," as well as sell them to those interested.
The fund-raiser is being held for the Beacon of H.O.P.E. senior programs. The event will be held at the Calusa Ridge model home, which is the yellow house on the right after entering the development. Hours are 2-5 p.m.
Tickets, which will only be sold in advance, are $20 per person. Only 150 tickets will be sold to those who are 21-years-old or older.
The tickets can be purchased at Trader's Hitching Post in Matlacha with a check or cash. No charge cards are accepted, since the Matlacha Hookers is a charitable organization.
The event will include six wine tastings - three white and three red - some of which are dessert wines. All the wines will be paired with delicious cheeses and decadent chocolate desserts.
A special auction for Pine Island artist Mel Meo's Afternoon Delights original artwork will be among the prizes, as well as a mystery wine. The auction tickets will be sold in $5 increments.
