Old Pine Island Marina will be hosting the 2nd annual Blind Fishing Tournament. The marina is once again asking for help from its customers.
Last year, organizers were able to take 11 blind fishermen and women fishing. This year we hope to take 25 blind anglers. These blind people remind us all how lucky we are to see and go fishing whenever we want. It is not so easy for them.
Last year the smiles on their faces let us know just how important it was to them.
You may fish either end of the island. Anglers must be picked up at 7:30 a.m. and dropped off by 2:30 p.m. from Old Pine Island Marina, 3187 Stringfellow Road, St. James City.
Bait, water and ice will be provided. There will be a free barbecue following the tournament for all participants.
If you are willing to help out, contact us at 239-283-2548 and we will put you on the list.
