Ronald McDonald House Charities seeking supporters

March 8, 2013
Pine Island Eagle

A little spare change can go a long way and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Southwest Florida is counting on it!

"Pennies from the Heart" is a month long fundraising campaign that will run from April 1- 30, 2013. Volunteers willing to motivate their businesses, neighborhoods, schools and organizations to participate in collecting money for the charity are needed!

"The support of community partners is the key to making the "Pennies from the Heart" campaign a continued success for Ronald McDonald House Charities," said Angela Katz, Event Coordinator for RMHC. "By working together, a little spare change can indeed go a long way in making a significant impact on the lives of the children and families in our care. We're always looking to expand our community participation so the time to get involved is now."

McDonald's restaurants, Fifth Third bank branches, Valvoline Instant Oil Change locations, schools and businesses throughout Southwest Florida have already pledged support for the 2013 campaign. Anyone interested in joining the campaign is encouraged to contact Angela at 239-437-0202 for information and suggestions on customizing a "Pennies from the Heart" campaign.

Ronald McDonald House is a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill or injured children who are being treated at Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida, and other area hospitals. Since 1996, the Ronald McDonald House of Southwest Florida has provided shelter and support to over 2,400 families.

Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is a state-of-the-art mobile pediatric healthcare unit providing medical and dental care, eye exams, glasses, physicals and health education to underserved children in their own neighborhood. The Care Mobile program serves more than 3,000 children annually.

The mission of RMHC is to create, find, and support local programs that directly improve the health and well being of children in Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Glades and Hendry counties. If your organization would like to participate, please contact Angela Katz at 239-437-0202 or via email at Angela@rmhcswfl.org
