To the editor:
Our little cottage in Matlacha has been in the family for over 65 years. Over that time there have been a lot of changes on the island, most of them coming in the last 25 years. It does seem however, that during the last 10 years there have been a lot of people coming to the island with definite ideas about how things should be done. While change is often good, there are some things, which are better left unchanged. The small town atmosphere of Matlacha is what attracts tourists as well as new residents. I would hope that in the interest of "doing more business, and making more money," the relative newcomers don't change forever the small town that I love so much.
