By MEGHAN McCOY ( , Pine Island Eagle

The annual Calusa Land Trust meeting will be held Sunday, Jan. 20, at Fritt's Park in Bokeelia to share committee reports with the community of how the organization did during 2012.

Calusa Land Trust Board Member Sonny Koutsoutis said you do not have to be a member of the organization to attend the meeting.

"The meeting is open to everyone," she said.

Board members will share information about the 98 acres that were acquired during 2012 by the Calusa Land Trust, as well as $20,000 that was provided to 20/20 to assist with the land purchase behind Winn-Dixie.

The meeting will also include an election for the board of directors. Those who are up for re-election include Ed Chapin, Cathy House, Koutsoutis, Judy Ott, Joan Rosenburg and Ron Wesorick.

Joan Culver and Phil Rosenburg have decided not to run for re-election, which are two-year terms. The Calusa Land Trust nominating committee will present Pat Rooney and Gerry Butters for the two board positions.
