As I sit here trying to type this week's article, I have a purring helper on my lap. Her name is Pixie. Her brother, August (Gus), is playing with my shoestrings. This is typical behavior for these sweet, 4 month old kittens. It's easy to tell them apart, Pixie likes to snuggle and Gus likes to play. The more obvious difference is Pixie's short tail. She's a manx cat, which is a very good thing when you have a playful brother that would chase your tail! Now for the bad part. They have the curse of the black cat. Translated, they are black and no one wants them. It's true. Black cats and dogs are always the last ones chosen and most shelters are full of them. Please don't let Gus and Pixie miss out on all the love and attention that comes with a home. They can be adopted separately, but it's such a bargain with our "Buy One Get One Free" pricing! Call Helping Paws today at 239-283-9100. They are waiting by the phone!
