Barge Party VI, which was hosted by Sandbar Productions in September, raised $3,800 for the Bobby Holloway Memorial Fund, which will benefit youngsters on the island.

Bobby Holloway Memorial Fund president and board member Ernestine Holloway Squires said she was speechless when she received the call from Jim Frock, with Sandbar Productions, about how much money the event raised. She said Sandbar Productions is very generous and thoughtful of thinking about the youth on the island.

"It's really popular," Holloway Squires said about the Barge Party, which attracts boaters and music enthusiasts to Two Pines Sand Bar for a day of fun. "Everyone loves it."

Jim Frock, of Sandbar Productions, donates $3,800 to Bobby Holloway Memorial Fund president and board member Ernestine Holloway Squires, Friday from money raised during last month’s Barge Party VI.

She said she also wanted to thank Monroe Canal Marina for the use of the kayaks for the event last month, as well as her husband, Leland; son, Waylon; Cory and Casey Herring; and Rick, Brian and Brittany Ivy.

Frock said the Sept. 29 event attracted between 300-350 boats to the sandbar to listen to the Grayson Rogers Band, Deb & The Dynamics and Ground Zero.

He said he wanted to thank his partners with Sandbar Productions, Scott Alan, Ray Holton and Scott Roberts, for all of their help.

"I couldn't do it without them, that's for sure," Frock said.

He also wanted to thank all the sponsors of the event Miceli's; Low Key Tiki; Carmen's Kayak's; Olde Fish House Marina; Bert's Bar & Grill; Seven Seas Bait and Tackle; Traders Hitching Post; Island Crab Company; York Road Marina; Bridgewater Inn; B.M.I. Sandbar Productions has raised a little under $40,000 since its first benefit was held in 2010.
