‘Books for Hungry Minds Project’ under way

Donations can be dropped off at Stonegate Bank, library

October 17, 2012
Pine Island Eagle

The Friends of the Pine Island Library are again collecting books for the "Books For Hungry Minds Project." This project provides children and young adult books to our Pine Island Food Pantry.

Last year, through the generosity of Pine Island residents, over 750 books were collected and distributed through the food pantry.

Books for Hungry Minds, is truly a "project of the heart." Every time a family picks up food at the pantry, they are encouraged to also pick out a book for each child in their family.

For the months of October and November, the big blue barrel will be in the lobby of the Stonegate Bank on Stringfellow Road. Books may also be dropped off at the library during business hours.

Monetary donations can be sent to Pine Island Friends of the Library, P.O. Box 290, St. James City, FL 33956

Please drop off your new or used children and young adult books and help put a smile on a child's face.
