Look for a variety of events including a fall fashion show for people, one for pets, a cut-a-thon, dunk tank and more at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Fund Raiser today, Sept. 29.
The Bangles, Bubbles & Bling event will be held in Big John's Plaza parking lot from 3 to 8 p.m., to support Cape Coral resident and 2012 Survivor Chair for Lee County Constance Hand in her efforts toward the future big American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event to be held in October.
"I'm ecstatic the community has come together like this," said Hand. "The stores are hosting me to raise money for my team for the walk."
She's participated in the walk before in Fort Myers, and said she wanted to create something in the Cape to help the cause.
"I lost several family members to cancer and have a son who is a cancer survivor," Hand said.
She's from Georgia originally, and supported Relay For Life and other cancer research events both there and here. "My heart just takes me to the survivors."
