Marvin L. Smith, 77, was born Oct. 17, 1934, to his parents, Floyd and Helen Smith in Bethlehem, Pa., and passed away Sept. 13, 2012. at Hope Hospice in Cape Cora.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diane M. (Engler) Smith; his children, Gary Smith and Wendy (Brian) Diehe; daughter-in-law, Connie Smith; grandchildren. Rachel and Rebekah Smith, Emma, Norman and Douglas Karlson, Kylie, Matthew and Lily Diehe; and his siblings, Margaret, Florence, Isabelle, and Annabelle.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Helen and Dolly, and his brothers, Gordon and Lester.
He attended Liberty High School until his adventure with the U.S. Army took him to Japan, South Korea and Texas. He married his life companion, Diane, in 1964 and worked with Floyd J. Smith Incorporated. Later he then managed the Water and Sewer Authority in Lower Saucon Township, Pa. He has worked approximately the past 8 years for the Lee County School District as a bus driver.
There are no scheduled funeral services for Marvin at this time. The family request donations to be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908, or to Cape Christian Fellowship, 2110 Chiquita Blvd. Cape Coral, FL 33991 in Marvin's memory.
