To the editor:
While I own a house in St. James City, I'm still working and only enjoy the Pine Island life a few weeks a year. I have watched in absolute amazement as seemingly intelligent PI residents have spent countless hours railing against the fluoridation of our drinking water.
At first, I wondered if their fears were justified, so I went on the CDC and ADA websites where I found that water fluoridation is egarded as a significant public health necessity (and has been for decades). How anyone can question these expert sources is beyond me. But I guess everyone is entitled to an opinion. Of course, they are not entitled to their own facts although the profusion of "quack" website sources they cite seems to demonstrate one of the shortcomings of the internet. Anyone can claim to be an expert.
But I want the Board of Directors to know that my wife and myself appreciate what you're doing. I suspect there are many others on the island who feel the same way.
