Offshore drilling again?

August 15, 2012

To the editor:

Would you believe they're talking about offshore oil drilling again? Don't they ever learn? It's so much easier to clean up a spill on land, as it is to clean up underwater.

So we might put a yellow bellied, spotted beetle on the endangered list. But as I said before, dinosaurs were on the endangered list at one time and I don't miss them at all.

Concentrate on oil in our country and keep it here.

Now, we certainly can't count on small business to hire the amount of people that are out of work. We need big business to do their business here in the U.S.A. with American parts. Figure out a severe penalty for those manufacturing overseas. They use the excuse of cheap labor and yet they charge as much if not more then if it was made in the U.S.A.

Since we're off the gold standard and since the United States has a printing press and an engraver, why not have the engraver make a billion dollar plate and have the presses run them night and day for a solid week? Maybe it will be enough to pay off China. Might even have enough left over for Obama's next vacation.

On the minus side, China might take all that money and buy up all our foreclosures properties and in time evict us, so we'll have to migrate to Mexico where we'll live the American dream.

Now that's just a thought, which is more then the current administration is doing.

By the way, an outdoor antenna gets as many channels as basic cable. Antenna, $50 plus cable. No monthly payment.

I'm sure by now you all know how many sides a circle has. But for the uninformed, a circle has two sides - the inside and outside, bet you didn't learn that in school.
