Dillard Ray Hardwick, 73, of Cape Coral passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012. He was born Nov. 25, 1938, in Columbia, Ky., to Oscar and Bertha Neat Hardwick. He worked for over 36 years as a cooper, hand crafting whiskey barrels, for the Bluegrass Cooperage Company. He moved to Cape Coral 12 years ago. He was a member of Free and Accepted Mason's and the Shriners. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time visiting with friends and family. He loved helping people.
Heis survived by his loving family including his wife of 53 years and 4 days, Phyllis Higginbotham Hardwick; son, James Hardwick and his wife, Ginger, all of Cape Coral; and sister, Flossie Grider of Russell Springs, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Nolan, and sister, Edna.
Visitation and the funeral were Monday, June 25, at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 S.W. Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral. Burial followed at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
