Pennye Hughes Iannelli, 66, died of cancer at home Saturday, May 26, 2012, in the loving care of Michael Hourihan. She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. A graduate of Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pa., and Kutztown University, she went on to open and run various businesses: The Sun Tannery in Bethlehem, Pa., The Coconut Connection, the first clothing boutique on North Captiva Island, and Yellowtails Restaurant in Key West, Fla.
She was a dear friend to all on the island where she lived for six years, North Captiva and to Island Girl Charters, the boat she rode many for years. She loved her family, traveling, warm weather, island music, Cuban food and all things Caribbean.
She was the loving mother of Kristy A. Iannelli and the proud grandmother of Lauren E. Mahoney of Pine Island. She was the wonderful daughter of Dorothy and Daniel Hughes, the sister of Danielle Carlson and Candace Kavouras.
She is also survived by her former husband, Gary Iannelli, many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Pennye's life will be held in early summer, where she will be remembered for her many gifts, her strong spirit, and especially her infectious laughter!
