Second annual Health & Safety Fair May 12 at Pine Island Pool

May 9, 2012
By KATHY JONES - Special to The Eagle , Pine Island Eagle

The second annual Health & Safety Fair, sponsored by Lee County Parks & Recreation, will be held Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the Pine Island Pool, located at 5675 Sesame Drive in Bokeelia.

Featured will be Radiology Regional's Mobile Mammogram Coach. This state-of-the-art mobile digital coach offers expert staff, superior service and the same high quality, local, board certified radiologists interpreting the results.

The American College of Radiology and the American Cancer Society recommend a baseline mammogram at age 40, followed by an annual screening thereafter if you are asymptomatic. Mammograms continue to be the gold standard and are the key to life-saving early detection of breast cancer. In fact, one third of all breast cancer deaths in America each year could be prevented by early detection.

No prescription is necessary for a screening mammogram and the exam takes only about 20 minutes. Most insurance is accepted and there is special discounted self-pay pricing available.

To schedule a mammogram at the Health & Safety Fair on Pine Island, call 239-936-2316. For more information, please visit www.radiologyregional.com
