David Harry Harvey Jr., 64, a Bokeelia resident for over 11 years, died Thursday, April 12, 2012. He was born May 27, 1947, in Erie, Pa., to David and Bette Harvey Sr., now deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Ginger" Harvey in February 2012.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pine Island. He was a man that loved to travel and fish and will be especially remembered as being very spontaneous.
He is survived by two loving children, Stacey Gray of North Fort Myers and Shawn S. (Natalia) Harvey of Cape Coral; a step-daughter, Christine Starett of Cape Coral; his mother-in-law, Ruth Staddon of Cape Coral; two sisters, Linda (Matt) Oldach of Erie, Pa., and Nancy (Karl) Akus, also of Erie; one brother, Louis (Maryann) Harvey of Monroeville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Arielle and Connor Gray of North Fort Myers and Alex and Grace Harvey of Cape Coral; a step-grandson, Brandon Starrett of Cape Coral; as well as his very best friend, Doug Guy of Bokeelia.
Memorial services will be held 4 p.m., Sunday, April 22, at the First Baptist Church of Pine Island, 5363 Avenue D, Bokeelia, with Pastor Clyde Michener officiating and Pastor John Schell assisting.
Memorial contributions are also suggested to the First Baptist Church of Pine Island.
