Cats to stay at Winn-Dixie

April 18, 2012

After an overpowering, positive response from the community, the Winn-Dixie cats will remain at their home in the plaza.

"The Winn-Dixie team is committed to preserving the distinct characteristics and local flavor that make the Pine Island community so special," Dan Loughren, the manager of Winn-Dixie, said. "Recently we have received feedback from our guests and neighbors regarding the cats that call our plaza home. Rest assured your neighborhood grocery store will remain a safe haven for the Winn-Dixie cats."

Since a part-time resident of Pine Island made the complaint to the corporate office, everyone who has visited the store have been very supportive about keeping the cats at the plaza.
