To the editor:
Recently, at our Tuesday night scramble on Pine Island - we golfers had the pleasure of playing golf with a local head golf professional (and his associate) who both work at a nearby course. It seems they heard about the six-week carryover on our skin money our group of 50-70 guys had accumulated - and took it upon themselves to rid us of our money. I was taught that club professionals play golf with their kind and amateurs play with their kind. Not on this Tuesday night. What happened to our game of honesty and integrity? I heard some name calling and almost saw a fight - grown men acting like kids - all over the money. Golf pros should be held to a higher standard. If this is what they are teaching our children the game is in trouble.
