Elizabeth Ann Snyder (Liebewein), 74, of St. James City passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, after a courageous battle with COPD brought on by a rare disease, erosive Lichen Planus. She was born in West Hartford, Conn., whre she graduated from Hall High School and Lasell Jr. College in Newton, Mass. She was a member of the West Hartford Jr. Women's Club and the Garden Club, both in West Hartford. She missed spending times at her senior aerobics classes in Piscataquis Region YMCA when she became ill.
She was an avid golfer and was named #2 ladies player at Rockledge Country Club. She loved fishing and time spent outdoors with the wildlife, especially her birds and chippy. She was happiest at her summer home on the shores of Sebec Lake in Maine. She also enjoyed sewing, puzzles, gardening and walks on the beach. She was passionate about her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Gene R. Snyder; children, Cindy Nyser (Chuck) Burby of New Britain, Conn., Ken (Marielle) Nyser of Ellington, Conn., Chris (Christine) Nyser of Bolton, Conn., Steven (Cathy) Snyder of Ocala, Fla., and David (Nancy) Snyder of Virginia Beach, Va.; her brother, Emil (Debbie) Liebewein;12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and four nieces. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 7771 Stringfellow Road, St. James City, FL, on Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. Services will be scheduled in Connecticut, New York and Maine in the spring.
