Robert Clayton Collins, 89, of North Fort Myers, FL passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011. He was born on April 12, 1921 in Toledo, Ohio to Truman and Cora Fish Collins.

Robert was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Marine Corp. He has lived in the area for over 20 years. He worked as an Iron Worker with the International Association of Bridge, Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers, Local 25, Detroit, Michigan. He is a Mason with the F & A.M. of Michigan, Milan Lodge 323. He enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 61 years, Cecelia Collins; children, Barbara Bahnson of Monroe, MI, Patricia Lynn Brooks of N. Fort Myers; grandchildren, Brandy, Misty, R. Solomon, Susan, William, Robert; great grandchildren, Keith, McKenzie, Elizabeth, Michael, McKenzie, Tyler, Zachary. He is predeceased by his daughter, Sandra Marie Essary.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 with visitation one hour prior at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, with burial to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hope Hospice or the First Congregational Church, or of one’s choice.
