I AM Institute moves to new location

I Am Institute has recently relocated from the Island Center’s Calusa Court.

I AM Institute, Inc. and Divine Chalice Botanicals, Inc., can now be found at the Pine Island Professional Center between Nikki’s Lane and Stringfellow Road where owner Lorraine Frongillo-Downer, LMT, RA, shares the complex with Riverdale Dental, Attorney Albert Tidwell, Safety Harbor Insurance, Dr. Jeter and others.

“This has been a good move for me. I can’t imagine living anywhere else and I enjoy my work so much I can’t imagine retiring either,” said Frongillo-Downer. “When I first came to Pine Island I could sense the relaxation and the calm atmosphere of the island and still do every time I crossed over the bridge from the mainland.”

Before moving to Calusa Court, Frongillo-Downer first opened for business in Matlacha 10-1/2 years ago.

“It gives me great pleasure to assist people in healing, whether it is physical or mental,” said Frongillo-Downer. “When people come in who have just undergone a recent surgery, their faces are often very pale, but after treatment they leave with a glow and color in their faces. It makes me feel like I have done a good job and accomplished something. I look forward to each day I work.”

The new office is offering therapeutic massage and bodywork, Japanese facials, professional holistic aromatherapy, as well as organic and natural skincare products.

Frongillo-Downer began her career in assisting people during the healing process 15 years ago.

“When my son was young, he had a problem with asthma. When traditional treatments didn’t help I turned to holistic treatments,” said Frongillo-Downer. “I became fascinated in the healing qualities of aroma therapy as well as message, I began researching, learning and training in the field.”

Frongillo-Downer holds certifications in neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage message, fibromyalgia bodywork, cranial-sacral therapy, Japanese facial, Shiatsu Anma therapy, vertbraille and foot reflexology as well as having more than 12 years of experience as a certified aromatherapist. She also recently earned the title of Registered Aromatherapist (RA) after passing the Aromatherapy registration Council’s National Exam in October of 2009 and is a professional member of Alliance of International Aromatherapists and the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapists.

“Intended to aid in calm and balance, I have many clients who benefit from aromatherapy,” said Frongillo-Downer. “Even if a person has lost their sense of smell due to illness or aging, by simply inhaling the healing oils, the chemicals still produce the same reaction in the brain.”

Aromatherapy is used primarily to boost the immune system, help to reduce blood pressure, diminishing stress and aid in improving respiratory and circulatory systems.

Many of the products sold for skin care are from Divine Chalice Botanicals Organic divinechalice botanicals.com an organic and natural skincare line offering facial creams, cleansers, body lotions, bath products, sunburn relief and more.

To schedule an appointment, for a consultation or more information, call Lorraine Frongillo-Downer at 282-HEAL (4325).
